Frequently asked questions
Does Google Calendar support Hebrew dates natively?
No. Google Calendar only understands Gregorian dates. Luach converts a Hebrew date into its matching Gregorian date(s) across as many years as you choose, then creates those as ordinary calendar events.
How is this different from Hebcal's subscription calendars?
Hebcal's subscribed calendars are feeds you don't own — they live on Hebcal's servers and can change or disappear. Luach creates real, standalone events directly in your own Google Calendar, which you fully own and can edit or delete at any time.
Can I edit or delete events after adding them?
Yes. Every event Luach creates is a normal Google Calendar event owned by your account, so you can edit, move, or delete it exactly like any event you created by hand.
What happens in leap years (Adar II)?
The Hebrew calendar adds a leap month, Adar II, seven times every nineteen years. If your date falls in Adar during a leap year, Luach can automatically fall back to observing it in the regular Adar for non-leap years, so the date lands correctly every year.
Is my calendar data private?
Yes. Luach only requests the Google Calendar permissions needed to list your calendars and create the events you ask for. Nothing is stored on a server — your Google access token stays in your browser.
